History
Tura Public School was established on 14 March 1981 by the Education Department, Government of Meghalaya under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education. It is recognised as the only Government Public School in the Garo Hills among the five Government Public Schools of Meghalaya and has served the educational needs of the region since its inception.
The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, Delhi under affiliation number ME003. It offers the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education course up to Class X and functions as a co-educational institution from Kindergarten to Class X.
Legacy
Over the years, the school has built a notable record in academics and co-curricular life. Its alumni have gone on to serve in public administration, education, law, engineering, medicine, entrepreneurship and other professional fields in India and abroad.
